A Russian Billionaire Is Selling the Only Private Home Zaha Hadid Ever Designed for $100 Million. (It Was Once Naomi Campbell’s)

Vladislav Doronin, a Russian billionaire, real estate magnate,
and art collector, had a vision for the home he commissioned from
the late architect Zaha Hadid, reportedly as a wedding gift for his then fiancée, model
Naomi Campbell.

“I want to wake up in the morning and just see blue sky,” he
says beatifically in a video featured on the architecture firm’s
website. “I want to feel free.”

Now though, just one year after its completion, Doronin just
wants to be free of the 35,520-square-foot, four-story home—which
he’s selling for a cool £78 million (about $100 million).

Although news outlets report that the price tag for the home was
actually £117 million, now that Doronin and Campbell have parted
ways—Doronin and his new supermodel partner, Kristina Romanova,
have two daughters—the real-estate mogul is willing to lower his
asking price.

The home, dubbed the Capital Hill Residence, is a
futuristic treehouse built around vertical concrete shafts that
soar up above the surrounding Barvikha Forest, outside Moscow. The
supervillain-style lair is apt for a man who was
once described as the “Russian James Bond,” and would have suited
Campbell’s notoriously diva-like disposition. The house has a spa,
swimming pool, and even a built-in nightclub.
