The inaugural New York edition of TEFAF—the illustrious fair that has long hosted dealers who specialize in everything from ancient to modern art fair in Maastricht, the Netherlands, each year—opened today to invited guests. On view were pre-Columbian sculptures, a sarcophagus, works by heavy hitters like Pieter Brueghel the Younger and Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and more momento mori works than you could ever dream of.
